The Brassy Broads is a troupe of hilarious women of a “certain age” who entertain in a slightly saucy manner! This special Halloween show will highlight Brassy Broads of the past, featuring impersonations of Phyllis Diller, Gilda Radner, Sophie Tucker, Joan Rivers, and more! Full costumes, full glam, and all the sass of a trademark Brassy Broad!
The Brassy Broads were born in 2023. The troupe now has 11 members, with five or six performing in any given show. They’ve entertained audiences from Coronado to La Mesa to Carlsbad and private parties across the county. Proceeds from the Brassy Broads Comedy Show are donated to the James Shirey Foundation, a heartfelt tribute to James Richard Shirey Jr., who tragically passed away on January 10, 2009, at the young age of 14 due to complications from Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH). Founded in October 2017 by one of the Brassy Broads members and the mother of James, comic Sue Shirey, this foundation is dedicated to keeping James’ memory alive by making a positive impact on our community through charitable initiatives.
