YOGA CLASSES

Saturday, January 17th | 4:00-5:00pm
Led by a certified yoga instructor, Tamara Rodriquez, this gentle flow is designed to melt away stress, boost your mood, and strengthen your sense of community (all while playful pups roam the room spreading tail-wagging joy)! Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just in it for the cuddles, Puppy Yoga is a paws-itively perfect way to connect with yourself, your neighbors, and some four-legged friends in need of a forever home.
All of the puppies joining us are adoptable through Calexico Border Paws Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to finding loving homes for dogs in need. This sketch comedy experience is tailored for teens and young adults with neurodiversity and is a fun and community building event for all! Originally developed by NVA alumni Samantha Ginn, this one-of-a-kind program allows students to explore themes they love (anime, musicals, and more!) through various acting forms—stand-up, scene work, show hosting, movement, music, and beyond!
Under the guidance of experienced teaching artists Emily and MG, students will gain confidence, collaboration skills, and new acting techniques in a fun, supportive environment. And of course, we’ll wrap it all up with our own live comedy sketch show—because what’s Monday Night Live! without a grand finale?

Through fun, engaging exercises and classic improv games, students will learn the essential tools of improvisation — including listening, collaboration, spontaneity, and making confident choices in the moment. The emphasis is on play, connection, and skill-building, not performance pressure or being “funny.”
This class creates a supportive, encouraging environment where students can experiment, grow, and enjoy the creative process. No acting background required — just curiosity and a willingness to play.
The class is taught by Patrick McInnis, an experienced improv instructor who specializes in helping students build confidence, creativity, and strong foundational skills.
