Local sketch troupe Dad Skeleton is crash landing at the Next Stage this month with an action-packed comedy variety show full of music, stand up, and hilarious sketches! Known around town as San Diego’s SNL, Dad Skeleton is fresh off their 2024 residency at Finest City Improv and are prepared to dazzle the Carlsbad Jazzercisers, Financiers, and eBike Hooligans. Get tickets before they sell out. (The tickets, not Dad Skeleton— they will always keep it real.)
Featuring Acts:
Noise Boiz Freestyle Rap: Exactly what it sounds like. These boys are bringing hip-hop back to America.
Gay Best Friends Improv: We all know the story of the token gay best friend: underdeveloped but overly dramatic; too confident to live through the slasher flick, too sassy to need a backstory; effortlessly vain, but still there to tell the big city girl to leave her job and friends for her hometown high-school boyfriend. At a Gay Best Friends show, the gays take center stage to tell the real stories of the gay best friends – in all their messy, hilarious, and fabulous glory. It’s sure to be a gay ole time.
Blennon & McBlartney is a local San Diego comedy band duo known for writing silly and satirical songs. Brooke (Blennon) is a writer, vocalist, and lifelong silly goose who rediscovered her love of music and comedy through improv. Britt (McBlartney) is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and certified goofball with past projects including Dead Man Dreaming and Kid Whimsy. The duo met at a party under disputed circumstances and instantly clicked while writing a spontaneous song about potatoes. They’ve since performed at Mockingbird Improv, Finest City Improv, and The Template OB.
About Dad Skeleton: Dad Skeleton is a comedy collective based in San Diego from the minds of Jacob Rozansky and Paige Chadwick. With a carousel of incredible local actors and performers, they bring fresh, hilarious theatricality to the White Family Next Stage. From giant cigarettes to spitting up blood, they use every element of the theater to deliver a memorable performance.
