AN IMPORTANT UPDATE

“We would like to note that another brilliant play in our 10-minute play festival called Birthday Brunch, by Jen Olivares, was supposed to be in our lineup this year.

This show centers around three generations of indigenous women, and unfortunately, we were unable to find the right artists to help us tell this story in time for the opening of this festival. This was an incredibly difficult decision for us to make, but to produce this piece without indigenous actors to share their own stories would be irresponsible and disrespectful to the indigenous community and their experiences.

We at New Village Arts want to recognize the immense gap in resources and support for artists of color, and in particular, the gap in support for indigenous communities. We are committed to producing Birthday Brunch ethically and responsibly, and will be looking for artists to help us tell this story with the respect and support it deserves. We hope that you will join us for Birthday Brunch in the near future, and thank you for your understanding.” – Farah Dinga, Final Draft New Play Festival Producer

COVID SAFETY PROTOCOL

Audience safety is our primary concern.  Throughout this season all patrons need to have a photo ID and either their physical CDC issued vaccination card or a picture of their vaccination card.  There must be at least 14 days elapsed from the date of their second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines and after the first dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Any unvaccinated person must present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours of the performance date (at-home COVID test results are not acceptable).

Photo ID’s and COVID vaccination cards will be checked starting one hour prior to curtain outside the lobby doors.

Masks are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status, while indoors in the lobby and during the performance.
