Leaving Your Legacy
New Village Arts Legacy Society
New Village Arts Legacy Society was developed so that patrons and friends of NVA may make a planned gift through their Will or Living Trust to include NVA. Planned gifts include contributions made through a Will, charitable gift annuities, gifts of Life Insurance, charitable trust, retirement funds, and more. You can become a member of the New Village Arts Legacy Society by making a bequest to NVA when planning for the future of your Estate.
We recognize Legacy Society members as very special individuals who have thoughtfully considered this as a way of leaving their legacy to ensure the sustainability of NVA and its mission in the Carlsbad community.

Inspiring NVA’s Legacy Society: Honorary Member Ellie’s Story

Honorary Member Ellie’s Story
Eleanor J. Piers, known to most as Ellie, was a California native who lived much of her life in the Bay Area until moving south in retirement, initially to Palm Desert, and finally to Carlsbad. She was one of the first residents to join Carlsbad By The Sea retirement community when it opened fifteen years ago.
Drawn to the area by her love of the beach and temperate weather, Ellie enjoyed being active in outdoor, social and cultural activities until her passing in October 2013 at the age of 89. While living in Carlsbad, she rarely missed an opportunity to enjoy local theater productions which brought her joy and reflected her great capacity for empathy and understanding.
Through a generous donation to the New Village Arts Theatre, Ellie challenges their dedicated artists to continue the task of liberating untold stories and bringing people closer together in shared community.
