Kids Act

New Village Arts is pleased to continue its collaboration with Kids Act, a local youth acting program that has been teaching fun and exciting children’s theatre for over 12 years! Kids Act classes are more than fun, they help develop your child’s self-confidence and creativity. Each child is encouraged to step forward and shine in an atmosphere of respect and trust, provided by experienced, professional teachers.

“Our goal in Kids Act is to encourage our students to manifest their talents and abilities through the joy of creative expression.”

Monday Night Live!

In Monday Night Live! students will explore themes (anime, musicals, etc) through different acting forms (stand-up, scene work, show hosting, movement, music, etc) to acquire more acting techniques based on material that interests the individual students. Of course, we end with our own comedy sketch show... Monday Night Live!

To be put on the mailing list for the future classes, email Aleta Barthell

"My daughter’s loving the Monologue Slam! Thanks so much for doing it!"

—Lance Smith (parent)

"That 'Create your own character' activity was really fun! I liked hearing the other kids' characters and the warm-ups were cool too! Again, the program was truly entertaining, and thank you for arranging it!"

—Alisha Chitko. Writer. Actor. Scientist. Veterinarian. (student)

"Drama is a fun activity that I enjoy. Kids Act online is a fun way for me to make new friends, improve my acting, connect with people, and have fun. Miss Aleta is an amazing teacher that is kind to us and helps us the best that she can. 100% recommend Kids Act online."

—Evi Sherlock (student)

"During these times of isolation it's a welcome opportunity for my daughter to interact with other kids & also develop her creativity and social interactions. Online Kids Act is a great resource and I'd highly recommend it.”

—Jon Sherlock (Parent)

"After 9 years with Kids Act! classes and camps, we were pleasantly surprised by the great opportunity of online Monologue Slams during the quarantine time! It was fun to see old friends, meet new folks, and of course, be creative with Aleta again! Aleta is wonderfully inviting, encouraging, and brilliant with so many ideas of creative outlets for kids and adults during this time! What a great activity while we’re all at home & looking for online entertainment/performance opportunities! Thank you, Aleta & Kids Act!"
