GET OUT is the highest-ranked film from 2017 on Rotten Tomatoes, and has received the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, as well as nominations for Best Actor (Daniel Kaluuya), Best Director (Jordan Peele), and Best Picture. It also swept the African-American Film Critics Association awards, winning Best Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Actor, and was awarded the "Movie of the Year" from the American Film Institute.

Q: Is GET OUT very scary?
A: It is a horror film, but it's probably better classified as a thriller. There are not many traditional "jump scares"--more suspense and psychological horror.

Q: What is GET OUT rated?
A: The film is rated R for violence, bloody images, language, and some sexual references.

Q: Is GET OUT gory?
A: Get out does have some violence and blood, most of which are contained within a single 10-minute section of the film. The film as a whole is not focused on blood or gore for its thrills. 

Q: Is GET OUT funny?
A: GET OUT does have moments of humor (its writer and director, Jordan Peele, achieved fame working in comedy and improv). Some classify it as a horror-comedy.
