ARTIST BIO

Crystal creates beautiful and personal fine art sketch portraits by commission.

At 21, Crystal fulfilled a dream becoming an accomplished pilot. Her marriage and passion for flying transferred to the raising of six children. The inclusion of sketching and painting developed and the focus became portrait painting in oil.

Sculpture in stone, plaster of paris, clay and metal was pursued as well. Crystal eventually settled on the portrait sketch in l980 when she opened The Sketch Pad in Carlsbad. The following years were spent in various malls, art galleries, demonstrations, and donations to schools, churches, or community fundraisers. Living in Carlsbad for 35 years, Crystal finds it wonderful to see art becoming the main focus of our community. It is such a privilege to be included in the Foundry, and to be among others with the same passion of artistic expression: theatre, music and art.
