ARTIST BIO

From Coast to Coast, Raziah Roushan has been making her mark on the American public. Working as a Visual Artist, in mediums like oil, acrylic, spraypaint and more, she creates worlds of Art that inspire and challenge the life of her viewer.

Being called "Statement and Purpose" or Social/Political commentary, Raziah brings to her paintings symbolism, visual genre collage, and strong text melded together to tell a tale of conflict or present a new look on an old topic. Her vibrant color palette, use of figures, and large scale encompass the viewer.

Some of Raziah's inspirations come from her constant reading. From her considerable amount of traveling she sketches cityscapes, people or icons of destination. And from her own mentors she is inspired by metaphors for a joyous way of looking at life. All this and more can be seen in paintings by this young artist as she shares her journeys, struggles and theories with her on looking patrons.

Raziah Roushan holds her Bachelor's in Painting from the Pacific Northwest College of Art, Oregon. She has been painting for over 12 years and has been showing and selling across the country for over 10 years. Her positive attitude, love of Art and constant traveling, have drawn her into massive networking, teaching and mentoring to artists of all ages and mediums. Whether it is grocery store conversations, hosting at community events or classroom lectures, Raziah Roushan continues to inspire hearts and activate minds.

Currently Raziah holds a studio at The Art Foundry at New Village Arts Theatre in Carlsbad, CA. This new creative space allows for public access, show openings, networking, and a venue to create onsite. For Raziah this has been a breath of fresh air to North County San Diego. She spends an average of 20 hours a week at this working studio, painting new works and sharing conversation with other Foundry artists. The foot traffic is steady through the day. Most onlookers are happy for the new addition to the village. And with the scheduled monthly art walks, Thursdays on the Coast, The Art Foundry at New Village Arts Theatre is a growing a success!
